Model of cross-border monitoring – innovative data collection in the Szczecin Metropolitan Region

The project called ‘Model of cross-border monitoring – innovative data collection in the Szczecin Metropolitan Region’ is carried out with a  financial  support    from  the ‘  Interreg V A Meckleburg– Vorpommern / Brandenburg / Poland. Program’.

Effective networks of the Polish-German co-operation networks in such areas as the spatial planning, economy, tourism or mobility provide the practical implementation of  a concept of the Cross-border Metropolitan Region of Szczecin. The idea of effective joining of strengths of the Metropolitan Region without the specific support might remain a theory only due to the lack of systemic discussion about needs of the region and poor co-ordination of actions.

The objective of the project is to provide reliable evidence of the strengths and associations of the Szczecin Metropolitan Region acquired on the basis of innovative solutions. The outcome of the project would be a methodology of the acquisition, harmonization and publication of data in designated areas together with the identification of data providers and users in the Szczecin Metropolitan Region. This, in turn, would be a basis for the estimation of possible operation features of the Szczecin Metropolitan Area monitoring system.
