Meeting of the Coordination Group in Berlin

On June 24 th, a meeting of the Coordination Group, tasked with preparing an update of the Common Future Vision 2030, took place in Berlin. The current document was adopted for implementation in 2016, so members of the Spatial Planning Committee of the Polish-German Intergovernmental Commission decided to update it to reflect current planning issues. At the meeting in Berlin, we discussed changing the timeframe for the new document to 2050, retaining the current graphical layout of the action areas for better recognition, and established a work schedule until the end of 2026.

The Common Future Vision for the Polish-German Interaction Area is a planning and spatial vision defining the future of the area on both sides of the Oder and Lusatian Neisse rivers. A key aspect of updating this document is collaboration with institutions in the border region and engaging experts in the process of identifying new challenges for strategic and spatial development. One of the Coordination Group’s ambitions is to implement new forms of participation and encourage interested institutions to participate in the update. The work schedule anticipates completion in December of next year.
