The Regional Office for Spatial Planning of the Westpomeranian Voivodeship in Szczecin implements a wide range of tasks related to shaping and developing a coherent spatial policy of the region, affecting the improvement of its competitiveness, metropolization of space or sustainable development of the settlement network. These activities are based on close cooperation with local government units, government administration, other provinces, as well as regions of other countries, especially cross-border areas. This is accomplished through a number of planning instruments that allow for the implementation of a coherent regional development policy.
One of the basic tasks of the Regional Office for Spatial Planning of the Westpomeranian Voivodeship in Szczecin is the development of a voivodship spatial management plan (PZPWZ) with its monitoring and periodic evaluation.
In addition to the integrated approach to the spatial policy of the voivodship, the PZPWZ also refers to areas requiring special intervention or dedicated activities. They are, among others functional areas that have common geographical, spatial and socio-economic conditions, a system of functional connections and uniform development goals defined on their basis. In the designated areas, appropriate measures are implemented to support the mutual integration of development potential.
The Office also actively participates in the implementation of international projects and cooperates within a number of initiatives and experiences exchange platforms.
